One of the most frequent comments in the Sustainability Faculty Network, on hearing about a new class in another discipline, is “I wish I could sit in on that class!” The Sustainability Day of Learning on May 16th, 2017 was designed to give us the opportunity to get a sense of each other's classes, ask each other questions, and think together about the challenges of teaching climate change.
Over the course of the day, speakers in the Notre Dame community from a variety of disciplines gave short presentations on how they teach sustainability and climate change in their courses. The following faculty members presented:
Tobias Boes, German and Russian Languages and Literatures
Emmanuel Katongole, Theology and Peace Studies
Jason McLachlan, Biological Sciences
Marc Muller, Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences
Adrian Rocha, Biological Sciences
Roy Scranton, English Literature
John Sitter, English Literature
Julia Adeney Thomas, History
Laura Walls, English Literature
