Are you interested in teaching K-12 students? Are you curious about environmental and sustainability education? Do you want to learn how to write, review, and assess curricula? Join professor and education expert Dr. Luke Gascho for a three-part clinic on Environmental Education!

Dr. Luke Gascho served until his retirement in 2019 as the Executive Director of Merry Lea Environmental Education Center, transforming the nature preserve into a hub for environmental education for all ages, from kindergarten age through graduate-level students. He pioneered the building of the Leith Village complex and the creation and accreditation of Goshen College's Environmental Education Masters program. Dr. Gascho was also a professor in the Sustainability and Environmental Affairs Education Department. Dr. Gascho has published several groundbreaking papers and a book entitled "Creation Care: Keepers of the Earth". 

Before joining Merry Lea and Goshen College, Dr. Gascho served as a teacher and administrator for 20 years at a K-12 school. Dr. Gascho earned a B.S. degrees in Biology and Secondary Education from Eastern Mennonite College, an M.S. in Christian School Education from Grace Theological Seminary, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Gascho has remained active as an advocate for K-12 environmental education after his retirement in 2019, most recently working with Goshen city schools on sustainability and environmental education initiatives. 

This clinic is designed for anyone interested in exploring key concepts in Environmental Education, teaching K-12 students, writing, editing, and assessing curricula, and expanding in and out of class educational opportunities for students.
